About Permissions

Permissions are the building blocks of  Webtreepro's functions.

Permissions may be grouped together into subsets called roles.

When a role is assigned to a user,

the role defines what that user may do.

Webtreepro offers an Advance Permissions capability

for users who require special access.

An example would be the Organization Site Administrators

who would need to have add, edit, and delete capabilities

 on Child Sites.

A user cannot grant any Permission to a role that they don’t have themselves.

For example, suppose you have the permission to create roles, but you do NOT have the permission to add pages.

When you create a new role, you won’t be able to assign the “Add Pages” permission to that new role.

  1. From the Administration drop-down in the gray panel in the upper left of your screen, select Permissions

   2.   The Permissions Administration page comes up.  See a portion of it below.

   3.   From the Choose Role drop-down, select the role to be reviewed and/or modified.

Select the appropriate permissions using the check boxes.  Some check boxes may be disabled.  The [ProductName ]will not

allow any permissions to be assigned unless the logged in User has them, also.

   4.   When complete:

      • Click  Apply   to save changes and remain in the Permissions screen.
      • Click  Done  to save changes and exit the screen.
      • Click  Cancel  to abandon any changes and exit the screen.
