SEO Center

The SEO Center is the central location to quickly and easily

search optimize the pages on your website.

This is also where you can quickly and easily re-arrange

the position of pages.

To get into the SEO Center, go to the gray panel to the left of your screen.

Then, using the Administration dropdown arrow, select SEO Center.

It will bring up the SEO Center screen that will show three tabs.  The Properties tab is seen below.

Go to any page on your website, using the List of Pages to the left of the above screen.  Click on the page that you want to use

SEO features.  While you are here, you can also change the page's properties, if desired.  If the page is not in view, click on the

plus sign  next to the page's section, where your page is located.  This will make the list of pages expand.  Once you have

selected a page, the page properties can be set or edited.

   1.   To the right of the SEO Properties tab are simple instructions in how to enter information or how to edit a selected page.

   2.   Underneath Tips and Instructions, in the blue box to the right of the screen,  is the Legend for the List of Pages

located at the left of the screen.  The Legend will give you information about each page's icon in the list.

   3.   Menu Name:  enter any name.

   4.   Page Name:  the default will be the name entered in Menu.  If you want, you can call the page a different name by clicking

the radio button next to Custom and entering a customized name.

   5.   If you don't want the page to be seen, click Exclude this page from the menu.  This is handy to use when the page is not

completed, or the Content is season-related.  For example:  You have written a page about up-and-coming Halloween

festivites, but the current month is May.

   6.   Page Title: will be automatically entered as the page's name, but we strongly recommend that you enter a different title

         that will contain your keywords.

   7.   Description:  You may enter a summary of the content of this page.  Be sure to use keywords which will help the search

engines rank this page high in search results.

   8.   Keywords will be very helpful in Search Optimization, but are optional.  These words are put in the header of the site and

are not in the content.  Search engines use these words to score your page.  Words that are not in the text but may relate

to the content on the page are, also, important to enter.

Let's say the page is an instructional page on how to assemble a child's wagon.  Words that relate to the page, but

may not be in the actual text could be:  toy, child, child's pull toy, etc.

   9.   If you select Show this page when a page is not found  Webtreepro will automatically send the visitor to an alternative

page, if a different page in your site is unavailable for viewing.  For example:  if there is a page that cannot be viewed at this

time, you could have the visitor be taken to the Home page.

 10.   Example Google Results:  gives you an indication of what a Search Result will show.

      • cached:  Google has stored the text in their own server caches.
      • similar:  Google has provided a link to other websites with similar content.

 11.  META Tags:  will provide information about your web page to help search engines categorize the contents of this page.

      • You can delete an existing an existing META tag by clicking the red circle.

  13.   Click Cancel   to delete your choices.
