Assigning Groups to Your Child Sites |

Webtreepro provides a great way to quickly push pages and Content
to specific Groups of child sites.
We will show you how to assign Groups to a new Child Site,
and also, to an existing Child Site.
And we'll show you how to push selected Content to a Child Site. |
To Assign Groups to a New Child Site:
1. Go to the gray panel to the left of your screen and use the dropdown arrow to select Sites, and the Edit Organization screen will come up. Click the
Add new Child Site button
located in the right corner of the screen, not shown.
2. The Add new Child Site screen will appear.

3. Fill out all the necessary information. Skip over Group, as we will discuss that in a bit. To review the specifics of each information box on this screen, see
the page Add a Child Site, or click here.

Once the information has been entered, click
Apply 
to save all the information. This will keep you in the
Add a new Child screen
, where you will need to be in order to a
ssign Groups to this site.

Click
Done 
to exit the
Add new Child Site without assigning any
Groups.

Click
Cancel 
to exit without saving a new Child Site.
4. Now, that you have created a new Child Site, you may want to assign one or more Groups to the new site. Return to the middle of the Add a new Child screen,
and click Assign Groups
. The Assign Groups window will come up.
5. Select all the groups that you want assigned to this particular Child Site.
6. Click OK
to save your selections, and return to the Add a new Child screen.
7. Click Close
to exit the window without assigning any groups to the Child Site, and return to the Add a new Child screen.
To Assign Groups to an Existing Child Site:
1. Go to the gray panel to the left of your screen and use the dropdown arrow to select Sites, and the Site Administration screen will come up.
2. At the left of the screen is a list of all your current sites. Select a site, and the Edit Child Site screen will appear.


3. Click on Assign Groups
. The Groups window will come up as seen below. Select all the groups that you want assigned to
this particular Child Site.
4. Click OK
to save your selections, and return to the Edit Child Site screen.
5. Click Close
to exit the window without assigning any Groups to the Child Site, and return to the Edit Child Site screen.
6. To put the new choices into implementation, click the Apply button
located at the bottom of the screen (see above arrow).
A Confirmation message will appear in the upper right corner of the Edit Child Site screen.
7. To complete the Assign Groups process, go to the bottom of the Edit Child Site panel where you'll see 5 buttons.

Click Disable to cause the selected Child Site to become inactive for temporary purposes.

Click Apply to save all editing changes, and remain at the Edit Child Site screen.

Click Cancel to eliminate all editing changes, and return to where you were when you started this process.

Click Delete to remove this Child Site permanently. A "Warning Message" will pop up, and ask if you are sure you want to delete this Site.

Click Done to exit the Edit Child Site screen and return to where you started this process.

Publishing Pages and Content to Select Groups:
Now that you have assigned Groups to a Child Site, you will need to send those Groups some Content.
1. Go to the page that you want pushed down (given) to a select Group(s). Now, go to the gray panel to the left of your screen,
and click Edit Page Settings. The Edit Page wizard will appear, seen below. Click the Publishing tab, and the window below will appear.


2. Check the first box, Make this page available to Child Sites.
3. Make your other selections, if necessary. To review the other Publishing options, click here.
4. Select the sites listed at the bottom of the screen, and click the Finish
button at the bottom of the window, not shown.
Now, that you have allowed your Child Site to receive a pushed page from your Parent Site, you'll need to select a specific piece of Content,
text or other type of Content that will be placed on the selected Child Site page.

1. Go to a selected page. Click inside the piece of
Content you want to send to the Child Site.
2. Make a right click to bring up the Page Details
window seen here.
3. Select Properties to bring up the Add Content
wizard, seen below. |

1. Select the Publishing tab, to bring up the window seen below:

2. To make the selected Content appear on the pushed page, click the box in front of Make this content available to child sites. You can make other
selections, if desired.
3. Go to Please select the sites... and choose which particular Child Sites should have this Content.
4. Click Finish to complete this process.
5. To check to see if the Content has been pushed, you'll need to go to your Child Site, log in, and go to the page that you previously pushed.
The Content will be in place.
6. If you've changed your mind about the selected Content, select Cancel to exit the Publishing window without pushing any Content onto a Child Site.
