Adding a Child Site to Your Organization

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There, undoubtedly, will be times that a new Child Site

 will need to be created. 

 

 Organization users with the permission to do so, can add the Child Site

by following these steps.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   1.   Go to the gray Administration panel to the left of your screen.  Click on the Administration dropdown arrow, and select Sites.

 

                                                                                 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   2.   Webtreepro brings up the Site Administration screen.  When you click the Add new Child Site button

          that will be located in the upper right corner of the screen, Webtreepro will bring up

         the screen seen below.

 

 

 

 

 

 

   3.   Enter the Child Site Name and it will appear in the tree view of the Current Sites section, on the left side of screen.

   4.   Enter the URL for the Child Site, either Full Domain or Subdomain, not both.

 

      • Enter the URL in the Full Domain entry box when the Child Site has its own unique URL that is different from the URL of the Organization Site.  For example, if the URL for the Organization (Parent) site is www.yourcompany.com  and the Child Site’s URL is www.child4.com, you would enter www.child4.com in the Full Domain entry box.

      • Enter the Subdomain name when the URL for the Child Site is an extension of the URL for the Organization site.   For example:  if the Organization site URL is www.yourcompany.com,  and the Child Site is www.child4.yourcompany.com,  you would enter Child4 in the Subdomain entry box.
      • Groups:  If you want to assign the Child Site to a group, click Assign Groups .  The window will appear seen below.  If you do not assign any groups, the default will be zero assigned groups.

 

  

  

 

   5.   Select the checkboxes for the groups to be assigned for the Child Site.

   6.   Once done, click OK   .

   7.   If you want to exit the screen without saving any changes click Close  .

   8.   To add a new group, click Add  , then type in the name of the new Group.

      • To save, click Save  .
      • To leave the screen without saving any changes, click Close  . 
      •  To delete a group, select the group and then click Remove  .

 

  9.   Click Close  .  For complex page grouping, go to the page Page Publishing, or click here. 

         For complex content grouping, go to the page Content Publishing, or click here.

10.   Click the Template & Skin Selector button, and select the template to be applied to the new Child Site.  A generic template

          may have been already given.  Some of the Templates seen below may or may not be the same Template selection you have

          available for your use.  The needs of individual websites vary.  Webtreepro offers different selections to meet your

          website's particular needs.

 11.    On the right side of the Add a New Child screen, is Location where the new Child's personal information is entered.

        • Google API Key is a key provided by Google for using with the Store Locator option.

 

 12.   Locator:    This is used if you intend to insert Webtreepro's Store Locator into your Child Site to help customers find 

          the Child's store or business.  Click Locator and the window seen below comes up.

        • Use the State/Province dropdown to select the areas of the Child's store or business.
        • If you want to include a picture of the Child's business establishment, click Choose Image.  It will take you to your library where you can select an image to insert.  This image will be shown in the results if you use a Store Locator page element. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   1.    Now, go to the User Information section at the bottom of the Add a New Child screen.

   2.    Click the Add new user radio button.  When the User Name is entered, this person becomes the SuperAdmin 

           for the Child Site.

   3.    Password/Confirm Password double checks the accuracy of an entered password. 

   4.    Enter the user’s Email Address.

   5.    Now,  click Apply  to save changes and remain in the Add a New Child screen. 

          Then, click Done   to exit the screen.

   6.    Click Cancel   to abandon any changes and exit the screen. 

 

 

 

 

 Webtreepro will present a confirmation message if all information was correctly submitted.
