Content Publish Dates Basics |
|
The Publish Dates window is where you determine when the content can be seen.
This is used when you want to control the viewing of a certain section of content,
such as when you advertise seasonal or holiday promotions.
You can set up the page with content and images
that will automatically change throughout the year.
This helps to keep the page fresh,
but doesn't require you to constantly change content. |
|
To control the dates when a specific Content is to be seen or not seen,
first make sure each Content
is placed in a separate Article.
Do a right click in the Article.
The Page Details window will appear,
see right.
Click Properties, and it will take you to the
Add Content wizard. |

|

|
|
1. Choose the Publish Dates tab which will bring up the Publish Dates window, seen below.

|
|
2. Set the Start Date: this is the first day the Content will be visible.
-
If you don't choose a Start Date, the Add Content wizard will cause it to be the current date. Content is published instantly when saved.
-
By selecting a date in the future, the Content can be placed on the page, but it won't appear to visitors until the Start Date. However, the Content remains visible in Edit Mode.
3. Set Stop Date: this is the last day that the Content will appear.
4. Expiration Notice
-
Notify me of expiration: Check this box if you would like to have an email reminding you that the page will stop being visible (optional).
-
Enter the email address where the expiration notice will be sent. If you don't enter an address, the Add Content wizard will use the email address of the person who created the Content.
-
Days prior: use the dropdown to choose how many days in advance the email should be sent.
5. Click Next . Webtreepro will take you to the Visibility screen. If there is no need to go through the rest
of the Add Content wizard, you can click Finish to exit and return to your working page. If you decide against
adding new Content, click Cancel to exit without saving.
