Content Publishing Basics

The Content Publishing screen is where you decide if the new Content

should be pushed to your Child Sites.

Also, you'll decide if the Child Site users can do anything

with the new Content.

    1.   Make this content available to child sites checkbox:

        • If this checkbox is not selected, no other options are available.

        • If this checkbox is selected, the page becomes available to the Child Sites, and other conditions may also be set.

    2.   Child site may edit this content checkbox:

        • If you don't check this box, the content is locked.  This prevents any Child Site user from changing any content.  This remains true, even if the content is on a page that is editable.

        • If you do check this box, the Child Site will be able to add local Content, that is, Content that is specific for the geographical area of the Child Site.  Also, the Child Site can edit the pushed Content, if the Parent Site has allowed it to be edited.

    3.    This content will be:

        • Required on child sites makes the Content mandatory.  Each selected group or Child Site will be given the Content.

        • Optional on child sites makes this Content available to, but not required on the Child Sites.

    4.     Please select the sites to publish this content to:   the Content will be pushed to whichever Child Sites are checked.

   When complete:

   5.  Click Finish     to finish creating the new Content and exit the screen.

        • The Add Content wizard will return you to your working page. You may begin entering text, and/or images, flash, tables, etc.

   6.   Click Cancel     to exit the Add Content wizard without saving, and not add any content.

Note

When new Content is added to a panel that already has Content placed in it, the new Content will always appear at the bottom of the selected panel.  To move the new Content, make a right click in the new Content.  A quick edit flyout will appear and offer the options to move the Content.  The example is showing the flyout for a Section List.

The choices offered are:  Up, Down, Move, Last.  These choices can be used in the current panel.  Other choices offer to move the new Content to panels outside the current panel such as, to the Main panel, the Header, the Footer, or to the Menu panel.
