 Insert a Flash

Webtreepro offers you the ability to add Flash to your website.

A Flash is a multimedia operating system used to add animation,

video and interactivity to your site.

To place a Flash,

first go to the page

where you want the Flash

to be seen.

The Flash must be contained in an Article.

So, you'll need to go to the gray panel

to the left of your screen,

click Add Content, and  select

"Article" from the list of  Contents.

To review the process of how

to add an Article, click here.

  1.   Once the Article has been added, click your cursor inside, and go to the 5th section of the Editing Toolbar at the top of your screen, and

         click the Flash   icon.

    2.   Webtreepro will bring up the Library screen, seen below.

   3.   To the left of the Library screen is where the folders are kept.  The Flash is probably stored under Media in My Content, Site Content,

          or Shared Content.

   4.   Click the folder in which your Flash is stored. The Library will bring up a list of contents that are in the Media folder.  You'll see the list

under  Title - Click to Preview.

   5.   Now, you'll need to search for your Flash. There are several ways to search for a particular Flash.

      • Use the Search bar to enter part of the letters, numbers, or words that are in the title, and click search.  The Search bar is located in the top right of the Library Toolbar.   The Library will bring up a list of matching words, and you can select the Flash.  Still using the Search bar, another way to search for the Flash is by entering in  Keywords, if Keywords for the Flash were previously entered.   Double click on the title of the Flash you want, and click Search  .  The Library will bring up the selected file.

      • If you know the approximate date when you saved the Flash in the Library, here's a quick way to find the Flash.  Click on the Created Date column.  One click will arrange the list in order from the oldest date to the newest.  A second click will arrange the list in order from most recent date to oldest.

      • For other suggestions on how to search through the Library, see the page File Storage in the Library or click here.

   6.   When you find your Flash, select it by clicking in the gray box to the left of the Flash's title, and then, click "Select" at the bottom of the

          Library screen.

   7.   You will  be taken back to your working page, and the Flash will be in place.

If the Flash is not yet stored in the Library, here's how you can get it there:

  1.   To the left of the Library screen is a listing of file folders.  Click on the folder where you want the Flash to be stored.

      • My Content holds files that are only available for you to use.

      • Site Content  holds files that are available to any authorized user of the website.

      • Shared Content  holds files available only at the parent level, for uploading.  Files loaded here are available to all child sites.

   2.      Then, click Upload which is the first button located in the Library Toolbar.

   3.      The Select Files screen will open.  See below.

As many as 20 images can be added to the Library at one time.

The maximum image-file size that can be uploaded is 15 mb.

   4.  Click the Add files button, at the bottom of the screen, to go through the Flash files you have saved on your computer.

   5.   Search for the Flash you want to open, and click on its name.  Now, click "Open"  to open the Flash file for the Library wizard.

   6.   The Flash's name and Title will appear at the top of the Select files window.  See above.

   7.   Now, click the Start upload button.  The Select files tool will place the Flash file into the Library.  When the file has been added to the

Library, you will see a "Confirmation" message in the upper right corner of the screen.

   8.   The Library wizard will take you back to the Library screen.  Search for the Flash's name in the Library list.  Using the actual title of

Created Date is helpful to find this recently stored Flash file.  Click on the title Created Date.  The Library will group the files by the

dates they were stored, from the earliest date to the latest date.  Click again, and the Library will group the files from the most recent date

to the earliest date.  It is a quick and easy way to search for a recently stored file.

    9.   If you want to add Keywords and/or Descriptions to this file, click in the small box to the left of the Flash's name.  The name will

become highlighted.  Now, click on the "Properties" button that is located in the middle of the Library's Toolbar.  The Library Properties

window will come up.  See below.

 10.   Fill in the blanks of the Library Properties window.  Entering Keywords and/or Descriptions is optional.  But, remember, entering

Keywords is helpful when searching for a particular Flash at a later time. Additionally, they are helpful to SEO.  This is also where you can

change the name of the file, if necessary.  Just delete what is written in the Display Name box, and type in a new name.

  11.    Click Save    to save entries.

  12.   Click Delete    to completely remove this Flash file.  A "Warning" dialog box will appear,

and ask if you are sure you want to delete the Flash file.  If you are sure, click OK    to delete it.

  13.   Click Cancel    to return to the Library page without saving any entries.

  14.   To exit from the Library page, Click the Done button  which is located at the bottom of the

screen.   You may have to use the scroll bar to be able to see the button.

Note

When new Content is added to a panel that already has Content placed in it, the new Content will always appear at the bottom of the selected panel.  To move the new Content, make a right click in the new Content.  A quick edit flyout will appear and offer the options to move the Content.  The below flyout is for a Section List.

The choices offered are:  Up, Down, Move Last.  These choices can be used in the current panel.  Other choices offer to move the new Content to panels outside  the current panel, such as, to the Main panel, the Header, the Footer, or to the Menu panel.
