The form builder allows you to create forms for visitor interaction with your sites. These forms can be very simple, such as an email subscription form, to somewhat complex, such as a detailed customer profile. You will be able to view the submissions of these reports in a number of different ways including receiving the data via and email, or, by viewing the "Form Submissions" data in the Reports section.
-
To create a form, click the Add Content button.
-
Select Form Builder from the Content Type screen and click .
-
Choose the Placement option (select panel and page distribution as with any content) and click . Webtreepro will present the Detail screen for forms:

-
Form Name: This is used to identify the form. Assuming you may have multiple forms on your website, this will prove helpful to identify the appropriate form data.
-
Enable SSL: Selecting SSL for your form creates an extra layer of security. Similar to whenever you use a internet shopping cart, the data submitted will be encrypted and will not be transmitted across the internet in "clear text". Using SSL will cause the page’s URL to be replaced with a secure URL. In other words, our normal SEO friendly page title will transform into an ugly combination of letters and numbers. This does not affect navigation or any links you’ve distributed, as the original URL will still function. However, the URL in the address bar will display differently. If you are placing this form on multiple pages, the secure URL will be substituted for every page where it appears.
-
Send email notification of form submission to: By checking this box, each time a form is submitted, a notification email will be sent to one or more email addresses. Please separate the multiple email addresses with a comma.
-
Enter the email address where the notifications should be sent.
-
This form can be used as a datasource: This a very powerful form element. If you wish for the data captured by the form to be used to populate another form element, select this checkbox. An example might be that you want to collect Customer Testimonials. By checking this checkbox, the entered data can be used on another form.
-
The submitted information will be available in the child sites: This allows the collected information to also be shared with child sites.
-
Review submitted data: Using the Customer Testimonial as an example, you may want to review the form submission before you publish the remarks. Selecting this checkbox will keep the form data from being displayed until you have approved the entry.
-
Check if the user is a human and not a bot (captcha control): If you select this checkbox, when the form is displayed, there will be a data entry box with goofy looking numbers that the user must enter. This keeps automated internet crawlers from submitting garbage in your forms.
-
Thank you page: Choose which Thank You action should occur after the user submits a completed form.
-
Stay in the same page. If selected, enter a Thank You message in the form box shown.
-
Choose a different page. You have the option of re-directing the site visitor to any page of your site. This could be a dedicated Thank You page that you’ve created (generally, this would be a page that’s excluded from your menu).
-
Click Finish to complete. Webtreepro will go back to the page and will have added a new content box for your form. It’s now time to build the actual form.
