   Dropdown List

 

  1. Once a form has been added to an article, either In a row of a table, or in the article where you wish to place the form element, enter the name for the Drop Down List (for example States).
  2. To create a dropdown list, place the cursor where you wish the form element to appear.  The dropdown control will allow site visitors to selece one (1) value from a dropdown list.
  3. Select Insert Select    on the Forms toolbar.
  4. The Selection Field Properties box is presented.
  5. On the Manual tab, Style, select Drop Down List.
      1. Enter a unique Name (for example, States).  This will be used to identify that field in the email which will be sent.
      2. Value:  leave blank.  No entry required.
      3. Row:  leave blank.  No entry required.
      4. Mark this field as required:  Check this box if the user must make a selection.
  6. Available Options:
      1. Text:  This is what will appear in the list (for the user to select).  Enter the name for the first item in this box and click the TAB key.  The text will be copied to the Value box.
      2. Value:  by default, this will match what is entered for Text, but can be edited to send a different alpha-numeric string.  This is the information that you will be reported to you on the form submission.
      3. Add:  Click Add to add a Text and Value entry.  Both will be added to the lower display panes and the entry boxes will be cleared to accept another entry.
  7. Repeat step 6 until all your values are created.
  8. Choose a pre-selected value (optional).
      1. Click on the value that should be pre-selected when a visitor first arrives at the form.
      2. Click the Selected checkbox.
  9. Click OK to save.
  10. Click Cancel to cancel the entries.

 

 


Modify an Existing List Item

 

  1. Select the item to be modified from the Text display.
  2. Edit the Text and/or Value entered, or move the item within the list using the Up/Down buttons
  3. Click the Modify button when finished.
  4. Click OK to save.
  5. Click Cancel to cancel the entries.

 

 


Delete an Existing List Item

 

  1. Select the item to be deleted from the Text display.
  2. Click the Delete button when finished.
  3. Click OK to save.
  4. Click Cancel to cancel the entries.
