Edit or Delete a Login

There may be times that a Login

will need to be changed in some way, or even deleted.

Let's take a look at all our options.

   1.   Generally, we use a variety of tools when editing.  These tools are always seen at the top of the screen, and are

available for use on every page of your site, with one exception.  The Form Building Icons can only be used

         when working on a Form.

      • For a complete description of all the editing tools, see the page A Quick Look at the Editing Icons and What They Can Do, or click here.

                                                                                                                                                Login Properties flyout

To edit a Login, go to the first page where it was created.

You cannot edit a Login anywhere else.

In Edit Mode, right click on the Login.

The Login Properties flyout will appear.

If you don't remember where you created the Login, go to any page that it is on,  and do a right click on the Login itself.

The Login Properties flyout will appear, seen in the upper right corner.

Then, click Info.  The Element Info flyout will appear, seen below.

Look at "Origin Page."

We see the Login was created on the "Admin page."

Now, you can go to the Admin page, and edit or delete the Login,

following the instructions below.

    2.   The Login Properties flyout offers information and editing choices.  Click on each subject to see what they offer.

      • Info:  This offers specific information about the Login, such as the Origin of the site, the Placement, who created the

                    Login, etc.

      • Hide: It allows you to hide the Login when it is in Published Mode.  This is handy to use if a Parent site has content being pushed to a Child site, but doesn't want the Login seen on the Parent site.
      • Opt-in:  This is not available for a Login feature.
      • Delete:  If you click on this, a "Warning" pop-up will appear, as seen below.  Click OK to go ahead and delete the Login.  Click Cancel to avoid deleting the Login Box

      •  Move to:  The arrow allows you to move the Login Box to different areas on the page.  The choices offered

are:  Up, Down,  Move Last.  These choices can be used in the current panel.  Other choices offer to move the Login

to panels outside  the current panel, such as, to the Main panel, the Header, the Footer, or to the Menu

                     panel.

      • Properties:  Click and it will take you to the Page Elements wizard.  The wizard's tabs are seen below.  You can go through each tab and change most of the Login's attributes.

   3.   The Placement is where you can change where the Login is shown.  Note:  you'll most likely choose This page only  unless

there is a page under it that also will need to be protected by a Login.  If that is the case, you'll want to choose This page and

any page beneath it.  Click Next  to go to the Details screen.  You cannot change the panel where the Login

          is placed.

Login, Details Page

    4.   At the Details page, there are a couple of changes you might want to make:

        •  Url redirection:  If don't want to redirect a Login user to a different page, select "None" from the dropdown.
        •  If you do want to use the Redirect tool, use the dropdown.  The dropdown will show a complete list of your site's pages.  Choose one of these to be your "restricted viewing" page.

                          Redirecting Expanations:

            • Users who have been assigned Roles that have access to "restrictive viewing" are selected at the Content Visibility screen.  To review the page about Visibility, click here.
            • If certain users have Roles that allow them to see "restricted viewing" material, they will login using their User Name and Password.  After which, they will be instantly redirected to the "restricted viewing" page.
            • Other users who don't have a Role to see a "restricted viewing " material will not even see this redirected page, but the page's title could be included in the site's Menu.
            • A suggestion:  to avoid confusion, the "restricted viewing" page might be better placed in the "Excluded Pages" section located in the left rail of your screen. The option of making a page excluded is dealt with on the first tab when you add a new page or click on "Edit Page Settings," seen in the gray panel to the left of your screen.  To review information about "Excluded Pages," click here
            • If you want to change how the Login box will appear, use the Login button type dropdown, shown above, and choose either the Image Login or the Button Login.
            • Click Next  to bring up the Publish Dates screen.

The Login box below, has the Image login.

Click Next   to go to the Visibility screen.

   6.   The Visibility tab is where you can change who is allowed to see the Login

          For more details, click here.

   7.   If you need to go to the Publishing page, click Next  to bring up the Publishing screen.

The Publishing tab is for Parent sites to choose the Child site restrictions, if any.

          For more details, click here.

   8.   Click Finish  to complete.  Webtreepro will have made the changes to your Login Box

   9.   Or click Cancel  to exit without saving your editing changes.

Sometimes, you might need to edit in only one of the Page Elements tabs.

Just go to the top of the screen, and click on the tab you need.

Do your editing, and then click Finish

No matter which tab you are on, the Finish  button will save all your changes,

and bring you back to the page you're working on.

You don't have to go through each tab of the Page Elements wizard to leave the wizard.
