Add a Scrolling Text - Ticker Banner

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scrolling Text adds an element of dynamics to your page. 

 

When creating a Scrolling Text, consider trying different fonts, font colors, and inserting images

 

to keep the text vibrantly alive.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To add Scrolling Text

 to your website,

go to the page

where it needs to be placed.

 

Then, go to the gray panel

to the left of your screen, and select Add Content.

 

The Add Content wizard

comes up. 

 

Scroll down the page,and select Scrolling Text.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   1.   Then, click Next   to go to the Placement tab.  You will decide in which panel you want your Scrolling Text to appear. 

         Also, choose the Scrolling Text to appear on just this working page, this page and any page beneath it, or on every page.  Then, click

         Next   to go to the Details tab seen below.  This is where you will set up the characteristics of your Scrolling Text.  Let's

         take a close look at all the options.

 

  

   3.  Direction:  Using the dropdown choose:

 

                         a)  down-up will make the text scroll from the bottom to the top (vertical)

 

                         b)   up-down will make the text scroll from the top to the bottom (vertical)

 

                         c)   left-right will make the text scroll from left and go to the right (horizontal)

 

                         d)   right-left will make the text scroll from right and go to the left (horizontal)

 

   4.   Speed:  Using the dropdown choose a speed at which the text will scroll.  1 is the slowest speed.  10 is the top speed.

 

   5.   Height:  Measured in pixels, choose the height of the Scrolling Text.  This can be adjusted later, if needed, by doing a right click in

         the Scrolling Text and selecting "Properties."  Then, click the Details tab.  For more details, click here.

 

   6.   Width:  Measured in pixels, choose the width of the Scrolling Text.  This also, can be adjusted later.

 

   7.   Gapless:  If you check this box, your Scrollling Text will seem to have no beginning and no end.  If you leave the box unchecked, your

         Scrolling Text will display a definite beginning and end.

 

   8.   Click Next   to go to the Publish Dates tab.

 

      • This is where you will decide when your Scrolling Text should be viewable.  This is a handy feature to use if the

                     Scrolling Text contains time sensitive material such as holiday or seasonal promotions. 

 

      • To set the Start Date, use the calendar's forward > or backward <  arrows to find the desired month, then click on the

                     desired date.   The double arrows <<  and  >>  will change the year. 

 

      •  To set the Stop Date, use the calendar's forward > or backward <  arrows to find the desired month, then click on the   

                      desired date.   The double arrows <<  and  >>  will change the year.   Click Next   to go to the Visibility tab.

 

    9.   This is where you choose who will be able to view the Scrolling Text.  Choose everyone, only logged in users, and/or roles. 

             Click Next   to go to the final tab, Publishing.

 

   10.  This tab is used for Parent and Child sites.  To review Publishing, click here.

   11.   To exit from the Add Content wizard, and return to your working page, click Finish  .   

 

   12.   The Scrolling Text will show a distinctive dotted line border, and will be located at the bottom of your chosen panel.

          

 

 

You're now ready to add text and/or images in the Scrolling Text bar.

 

 

    1.   As you enter Content into the Scrolling Text, be sure to use vibrant colors and a variety of font colors and font sizes.  Have fun!

 

    2.   To test the Scrolling Text, you will need to be in Published Mode, or click on Date Preview located in the gray panel to your left.

 

 

 

Note

As with all newly added Content, the Scrolling Text will be located at the bottom of the selected panel.  You may want to move the Scrolling Text elsewhere.  If so, do a right click inside it, and the Scrolling Text Properties flyout appears, seen below.

 

Click Move to... and another flyout appears.  Make a selection.  In order to move the Scrolling Text to its perfect location, this process may need to be repeated.
