Create a Thumbnail Slide Show

Creating a Thumbnail Slide Show allows your visitors to see all the pictures

in a slide show at the same time.

That way they can select a particular picture

to view closer without having to wait and watch the entire presentation.

To create a

Thumbnail Slide Show,

 go to the page where

you want it to be displayed.

Now, go to the gray panel

to the left of your screen,

and select Add Content.

   1.    Scroll down the Add Content selections to select Thumbnail Slide Show.

   2.   Click Next  to go to the Placement window.  Choose a page Placement, and a Panel location.  Some of the templates seen below may or may not

be the same template selection you have available for your use. The needs of individual websites vary. Webtreepro offers different selections to meet your

website's particular needs. To review Content Placement, click here.

 3.   Click "Next" to go to the Details window where we see three tabs, Viewer, Show Options, and File Links.  Let's look at the first tab.

     Viewer:

   4.   First, click the Select button  which is located under Image Location.  This brings you to the Library.  An example of the Library's screen is seen below.

On the left side of the screen, click the folder of the particular Slide Show you need.  To the right, you will see the titles of all the images that are stored within this

Slide Show folder.  If there is an image listed that you don't want included, select it by clicking in the gray box next to the image's title.  Now go up to Properties

located in theLibrary heading.  You can put the image in a different folder, or instead, you can delete the image to avoid having it displayed in the Slide Show.

Click the Select button  at the bottom of the Library screen (not shown).  You will be brought back to the above Viewer screen where you'll see your

particular Slide Show folder has been automatically entered into the Image Locator bar.

        •  If you don't have a Slide Show folder already set up, you can create one.  Please see the page Creating a New Slide Show Folder, or click here.

Now that your Slide Show folder is selected, the next step is to plan how the Slide Show will appear to your visitors.

   5.   Viewer DimensionsViewer refers to the "container" of the Slide Show.

      • Width controls the width of the viewer.  Enter a number in pixels to change this setting. (The default setting is 480 pixels.)

      • Height controls the height of the viewer.  Enter a number in pixels to change this setting.  (The default setting is 360 pixels.)

      • Border controls the border of the viewer.  Enter a number in pixels to change this setting.  (The default setting is 1 pixel.)

      • Color controls the color of the border around the viewer.  To select a color, enter the color hex code number in the text box next to "Color," or click on the square to choose a color from the color palette.  (The default setting is black.)

      • Placement within Panel controls the position of the viewer in the panel on your page.  Using the dropdown arrow, choose Left, Center, or Right.

(The default is set at Right.)

      • Viewer Padding provides a buffer around the outside of the Slide Show viewer.

You're ready to click on the "Show Options" tab which is to the right of  the "Viewer" tab.  If you click Next   you will go directly to

Publish Dates tab, and will skip over the Details' next two tabs which you may not be ready to do, yet.

Show Options:

This is where you will make selections that will effect how the Slide Show presents itself.

This is the top half of the Show Options screen.

   1.   Choose to have the Slide Show be displayed in a Horizontal or Vertical position.

   2.   You may have a variety of different sized slides in your folder.  Check Resize Images to fit to make all the slides the same size.

   3.   To have the Slide Show automatically revolve in a continuous scroll, check the Circular box.

   4.   Autoscrolling will cause the slides to automatically advance.

      • If you select this feature, you will need to choose how many seconds will pass before the next slide advances.

      • If you want the Slide Show to stop when a visitor drags the mouse over a slide, check the Pause on mouse over images box.

      • Stop on Click... will allow the visitor to control the Slide Show by advancing each slide by clicking the Previous and Next buttons.

This is the bottom half of the Show Options screen.

   5.   If you have a folder stored in the Library that contains an assortment of "Button" images, you may choose to customize your own individual Previous and Next

buttons by checking the box next to Use Custom Prev/Next buttons.

      • Then, click in one of the gray boxes.  You'll be taken to the Library where you can search for your "Button" folder, open it, choose a "Button," and click "Select" at the bottom of the Library screen.  The "Button" image will be inserted in the selected gray box.

Now, you're ready to move to the Details' final tab,  "File Links," which is located to the right of the tab "Show Options."

If you click Next   you will skip over "File Links," and go to the Publish Dates window in the Add Content wizard.

 File Links:

This is where you can create an internal or external link to each selected slide.

   1.   The File Links screen will show each slide that is in your Slide Show.  You will see 4 slides at a time.  If you have more than 4 slides in your Slide Show folder,

page numbers will appear at the bottom of the tab.  Click on the subsequent page numbers to see the next set of four images.

   2.   If you'd like one or more of the slides to be linked to a page within your site, click Link Image, and by using the dropdown arrow at the end of Use external Url,

select the page within your site by clicking the page's title.  The page title will replace Use external URL.

   3.  If you want a slide to be linked to an external URL, insert the URL in the blank bar under Use external URL.

   4.  Open in a new window:  Click this box if you want the link to be shown on a separate page.

   5.  Steps #2, 3 and 4  are handy when you want to link the slide to a page that has more information relating to the slide.  For example, if you have a slide depicting

college students cavorting in the surf, you may want to link that slide to a page that has detailed information about a special vacation promotion for Spring Break.

Now, let's finish with the rest of the Add Content wizard:

   6.   Click Next  to go to Published Dates.  This is where you determine when the Slide Show can be seen.  To review Published Dates, click here.

   7.   Click Next  to go to the Visibility tab.  This is where you determine who can see the Side Show.  To review Visibility, click here.

   9.   Click Finish  to save all your selections, and return to your working page.  Your Slide Show will be in place.

      •  To test the Slide Show, you must be in Published Mode, or go to the gray panel to your left and click on Date Preview to see the Slide Show in action.

 10.   Click "Cancel" to cancel all selections, and exit the Add Content wizard without creating a Slide Show.
