Page Publishing

 

The Publishing screen is where you determine if the new page should be pushed to your child sites, and if the child site users can do anything locally with the new page.

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Make this page available to child sites checkbox:
    1. Selection allows this page to be available to the child sites, and additional conditions may also be set .
    2. De-selection prevents this page from propagating to any child site.  It will therefore only appear on the parent site.
  2. Child site may add or edit content on this page checkbox:
    1. Selection allows the addition of local content and/or the editing of that pushed content which the parent sites has allowed to be edited.
    2. De-selection of this value locks down the page and will prevent any child site user from making additions, deletions or edits to this page.
  3. Each child page will use the same publishing settings checkbox:
    1. Selection prevents any child site user from changing the template, skin, name, location, and/or publish dates for this page on their site.
    2. De-selection allows the child site users to change the page publishing settings.
  4. Enforce default skin to child site checkbox:
    1. Selection ensures that even if the child site has a different default skin, this page will appear in whichever skin was selected on the Appearance tab.
    2. De-selection means the page will appear in the child site’s default skin (if different).
  5. This Page will be:  When radio buttons are enabled:
    1. Required on child sites makes the page mandatory.  Each child site will inherit the page and does no have the option to suppress it.  This must be in alignment with any pages “above” this one.  For example, a new page can ONLY be required if the page(s) above it is also required.  At this point, if on the parent site, you have set up groups of sites, you can also select a group(s), and sites within the group(s) that will inherit the page.
    2. Optional on child sites makes this page available to, but not required on the child sites.
  6. Please select the sites who will have this page:    Use the checkboxes to indicate to which child sites the content is pushed (if mandatory) or available (if optional).
  7. When complete:
    1. Click   to save the page and exit the screen.  You will return to the new page in Edit Mode.
    2. Click   to abandon and exit the Add Page Wizard .
  8. The page will present with an article already present.  You may start entering text, images or files to the article at this point. 

 

 

      1. If you do not wish to use an article on this page, right click on the mouse and select Delete .
      2. If you wish to set specific attributes for the article, right click on the mouse and select Properties.  You may then edit and save attributes.
