 The Link Checker

The Webtreepro's Link Checker is used to check one page,

or all your webpages to make sure all the links are working.

This is especially handy for pages where you've created many links

to resources found on other sites.

It's common for sites to rearrange themselves periodically,

which will cause a link to be broken.

With Webtreepro's Link Checker,

you can quickly make sure you haven't lost these connections.

If the link is broken, you can easily reconnect the link.

We recommend that  a Link Checker report be ordered on a weekly basis.

   1.   To start a Link Checker report log in and click the Reports link in the left top gray bar of your screen.

Click

the Link Checker button

in the left rail

of the reports section.

   2.   The Site dropdown will show your site.  If you are in a parent site, you can also select a child site.

 3.   Choose the Page you want to check by using the dropdown to the left in the example above, or you can click of All Pages, seen at the far right, to

have all the pages in the site checked.  If you choose to have All Pages checked, you will get the test results after a 24 hour period.  This is a big job

for the Link Checker, and it needs to perform it during off-hours.

   4.   After 24 hours, you will receive a message from the Link Checker in your email.  Click on the link, and Webtreepro will take you to a Report

Response.  An example is seen at the bottom of this page.

      •  If the links are broken, a red sign    appears, and there will be a link to the page with the broken hyperlink.

   5.   To re-connect, click the link to go to the page that needs re-linking.  Test each hyperlink by going into Published Mode, or click Date Preview located

in the gray panel to the left of your screen.  When you find the broken link, you can re-connect the link by using the Hyperlink icon .  To review the

page, Create a Hyperlink, click here.

   6.   If you want to print out this report page, you can click on the Adobe logo .  A File Download window will come up, seen below.  Click "Open" and

the report will appear in printable mode.  Use your computer's Print icon to print the report (or use "Ctrl + P" on your keyboard).

   7.   If you need the report put into a spreadsheet, click the MS Excel logo .  A File Download window will appear.  Click "Open" to make the report

appear in a spreadsheet.  Use your computer's Print icon to print the report (or use "Ctrl + P" on your keyboard).

   8.   To exit the Link Checker page, you can click on a different report in the gray Report Menu panel to your left.

      • To exit the Link Checker and return to the Knowledge Center, click Published Mode

      • To exit the Link Checker page completely, click the "Logout" button located at the top right of the screen.
