Dropdown List
Dropdown List
Place your cursor inside the form in the location where you wish to add your dropdown list.
Click on the "insert dropdown list" icon in the form section of editing toolbar.
Fill in the following fields:
Name
: enter a name for this dropdown list. This is important as it will be used to identify each title of the form's information. When a form is submitted, information from a field is listed with the field name in the report.

Type
: Choose one of the following:
Drop Down List
: Allows the viewer to click on an arrow to view a dropdown list, where they may choose one item.
Single Select List
: Presents the viewer with a list. The viewer may choose one item.
Multiple Select List
: Presents the viewer with a list. The viewer may choose multiple items from the list.
Populate list with
: Choose one of the following:
Custom List
: Allows you to enter the items to be presented in the dropdown list.
Countries
: Automatically populates a dropdown list of Countries.
States
: Automatically populates a dropdown list of States.
Visible Rows
: (Applies to Single Select and Multiple Select lists only). Choose the number of rows to display in the list.
List item presented to Viewer
: This is what will appear in the dropdown list. Enter the first item in the box directly below list item presented to viewer. The text will be automatically copied to the item value submitted by form box.
Item value submitted by Form
: This is the value that will appear in the Form Submission Report when this item is selected on the dropdown list by the visitor. This will be a copy of whatever is entered for the list items, but can be edited if you choose.
Clear
: Clears all entries in the List Item and Item Value fields.
Add
: Adds the entries in the List Item and Item Value fields.
Update
: Updates the entry after you click on an item in the List Item or Item Value field and edit it.
Remove
: Removes the selected entries.
Up
: Moves the entry up one place in the list.
Down
: Moves the entry down one place in the list.
Default item
: Check this box if you'd like to select a default item from the list.
Selected default
: Choose an item to be the default item presented to the viewer.
Default text
: Check this box if you would like to enter default text to display in the list.
Mark this field required
: select this option if the field is required upon form submission. Should the form be submitted without filling in the required information, an alert message will appear.
Show a message in a new line
: if this is checked, and the form is submitted with missing information, the form will show a reminder on the next line.
Click
OK
to save or click
Cancel
to delete the entries.
Save the page by clicking on the save icon in the editing toolbar.
