Text Box

  1. Place your cursor inside the form in the location where you wish to add your text box.
     
  2. Click on the "Insert Text Box" icon in the Form section of editing toolbar.



     
  3. Fill in the following fields:
    • Name: Enter a name for this text box. This is important as it will be used to identify each title of the form's information. When a form is submitted, information from a field is listed with the field name in the report. Click here to learn about Form Submission Reports.
    • Type: Select one of the following from the dropdown list:      
      • Text: The text characters are shown as the user enters information.
      • Password: The characters are not shown as the user enters information. Bullets are displayed instead.
    • Character width: Determines how wide the text box will be. The default is 20, but this can be edited to make the box narrower or wider.
      • NOTE: Applies only to non-responsive templates. For responsive templates, the box spans the entire width of the panel.
    • Maximum characters: Limits the number of characters a user may enter.
    • Watermark: (optional) Settings will be visible in Published Mode and not be visible in Edit Mode. An example of a watermark could be instructions or maximum amount of allowed characters.      
      • Text: Enter text.
      • Font: Click the  icon to select font, font style, and size. Click the  icon to remove your selection.
      • Color: Click the  icon to select a font color. Click the  icon to remove your selection.
    • Mark this field required: Select this option if the field is required upon form submission. Should the form be submitted without filling in the required information, an alert message  will appear.
    • Show a message in a new line:  If this is checked, and the form is submitted with missing information, the form will show a reminder on the next line.
       
  4. Click OK to save or click Cancel to delete the entries.
     
  5. Save the page by clicking on the Save icon in the editing toolbar.

Additional Information

  1. To delete a text box, click on the existing text box, then click the Delete key on your keyboard.
     
  2. To edit a text box, double click on the existing text box field. Or, you may click on text box, then click the text box icon on the form editing toolbar.
