Slide show

A Slide Show displays a set of photos, or images  that are stored in your Library.

When adding the Slide Show page element, you will see the additional Details tab. Click here for more information about the generic tabs that are shown when adding content.

Within the Details tab, there are three additional tabs: Viewer, Show Options, and File Links

Viewer Tab

 

  1. Image Location: Click the select button to open the library. Navigate to the folder containing the images you'd like to display in your slide show, then click the Select Folder button.  
    • All images in this folder will be displayed in the slideshow.
       
  2. Viewer Dimensions
    • Border: If you would like to have border around your slideshow, enter the desired width in pixels (enter "0" for no border).
    • Color: Choose a color for your border.
       
  3. Viewer Padding: Enter a number in pixels if you would like to add padding to any side of your slideshow (leave blank or enter "0" for no padding).

 

Show Options Tab

  1. Automatically Advance: If checked the slideshow images will automatically advance. You can control the speed using the options below. If unchecked, the images in the slideshow will only advance by clicking on the next or previous buttons (make sure to check the "show controls box") or by clicking on the thumbnail images (make sure to check the "display Thumbnail" box).
    • Duration of each image: Choose the number of seconds you would like each image to display.
    • Pause on Hover: If checked, the Slide Show will pause when the visitor's cursor is placed over an image.
    • Transition between images: Choose if you would like to have a slow, medium, or fast transition between the images.
       
  2. Show Text: If checked, the title and/or description that is entered into your image properties will be displayed over the images.
    • Position: Choose if you'd like the text to display at the top or bottom of the image.
    • Title: If checked, it will display the text entered into the "Display Name" field in the image properties. Use the "Font Size" dropdown to set the size of the text.
    • Description: If checked, it will display the text entered into the "Description" field in the image properties. Use the "Font Size" dropdown to set the size of the text.
       
  3. Display Thumbnail: If checked, small thumbnail size images will appear over the slideshow.
    • Top: If checked, the thumbnails will appear at the top of the slideshow.
    • Bottom: If checked, the thumbnails will appear at the bottom of the slideshow.
    • Width: Enter a width in pixels for your thumbnails.
    • Height: Enter a height in pixels for your thumbnails.
       
  4. Show Controls: If checked, buttons will appear on the right and left sides of the slideshow, allowing the visitor to move forward or backward within the slideshow.

 

File Links Tab

  1. For each image within your slide show, you can choose if you would like the image to link to another page when a visitor clicks on it.
     
  2. To Link an image, check the "Link image" box. If you would like to add a link to a page outside your website, select "Use external URL" from the dropdown list, then enter the URL into the field below.
     
  3. If you would like to link to a page within your site, use the dropdown list to select the page.

 

Adding or Removing images from a slideshow

  1. Open the library and navigate to the folder containing the images in your slideshow. See step one in the "Viewer Tab" section above.
     
  2. To add a new image, click the upload button. Click here for more information.
     
  3. To remove an image, right click the image and select Delete. If you prefer not to delete the image you can drag and drop it into a different folder in the library, then select Move. Click here for more information.
